< Intonation of Osaka Dialect >
Particularly the younger generation doesn't use the Osaka dialect such as 'mannen' or 'dennen' anymore. Though distinctive word endings like '...cchau?', 'yan', and 'nen' are still used by them, some people believe that the intonation, not word endings, will remain at last. To articulate 'ohayo- gozaimasu (good morning)' in Osaka dialect will be difficult for people living outside of Kansai area. You can notice the difference of intonation even when counting numbers, too. Listen carefully and enjoy such differences of intonation during your stay in Osaka.
