by Francesco-C Climb the Umeda Sky Bulding, entry is about 700 yen but once on the top you can join a great view of the city. In the underground floors there a reconstruction of the ancient japan, with a lot of little restaurants. Nice view on the city and hanging escalators. One thing about Japan that struck me was the absolutely beautiful architecture. The country seems to have decided that they'd only build cool looking buildings. The Umeda Tower is exactly that - it looks awesome fron the bottom or the top. The building itself is located along some cool scenery. The park around it has a water fall in which the water goes UP! That's tryely Japanese :) To get to the sky deck you must go to the third floor of the east Umeda sky building. It cost about 700 yen which takes you to the 39th floor,. From there you cross the span between the two buildings and reach the sky deck from which you can see Osaka 360-degrees. It's an awesome place to visit for the view alone. If you are into cool buildings then you'll like this one. The surrounding area is also cool. Leave a Comment

the bridge connecting the two high-rise towers of the 173-meter tall Umeda Sky Building is the "Floating Garden Observatory" From a doughnut-shaped roof, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Osaka, all the way out to Awaji Island on a clear night. There is a food mall in the base-ment that simulates Takimikoji Street in the 1920s.

Umeda Skybuilding, Osaka. by worldkiwi The Umeda Skybuilding is well worth a visit. It's just a short walk from Osaka Central Station and the Hankyu Station. Entrance is JPY700 for adults. On the open roof top you are 173m above Osaka and you have 360 degrees views. Just below the open deck there is the obilgatory cafe and shop. The unusual the elevators that you have to ride for the last part of the journey to the top (or first part going down), are a highlight. Leave a Comment

Escalator, not sure if I was going up or down by liangel, 1 more photos Went to to top on a slightly foggy night. Could see the Osaka Castle in the distance. Particularly enjoyable on a windy day/night. Was brought around by a friend. A teeny bit complicated to get to the top since I only remebered crossing to another part of building to take lifts and changing lifts etc. There's a cafe indoors when you go up. Might wanna go there for a quiet chat... Leave a Comment

The Umeda Sky Building is a nice architectonical highlight in the citycentre of Osaka. It costs a few yens, but it's worth visiting. At the upper floor, you have a good view at the city of Osaka. Planes flying to Osaka airport fly at the same hight close to the building. And what to think about the many (railway)bridges you can watch? Inside the building there is an exhibition about other so called floating gardens. But why the World Trade Centre of New York is a floating garden... nobody knows.. Leave a Comment
