The Shi tennoji is founded in 593 and one of the oldest temples in Japan. But none of the buildings are original. Most are concrete replicas. And the grounds are all gravel. It was just not what one would like to see. Yet this temple is one of the most famous ones in Osaka. But we would recommend to drop it from the list and visit the Isshinji (see off the beathen path ) and the Tennoji park area instead.

I went to Spa World in 2006 and thought it did not live up to it's description. If you turn the wrong way out of the nearest train station you walk through the smelliest alley in Japan complete with sleeping homeless men. The entrance is through a weird, empty shopping mall/amusement park that is totally abandoned and very creepy. The mu-mu I was given to wear was the single most hideous garment I've ever worn and the people working there were unfriendly and just barked orders when I did something wrong. There was a dirty band aid on the floor and the water in the baths looked not quite clean. It wasn't too crowded but the people were, well, rough and a little rude. The other women made rude comments which my friend could understand because she was fluent in Japanese. I would not recomend this place. Find a neighborhood hot springs by asking your Japanese friends.
I have been to several other Japanese hot springs and had very different experiences-all good.

We had the unlimited pass, so we got in for free, but still, it wasn't really worth the time to visit. It's out of the way, and except for the nice architecture, there's nothing to see inside the huge dome building. The website could have fooled me.

Don't go to the Tempozan Market place expecting to find a traditional market - it is nothing of the kind.
It will appeal, however, if you are looking for fast food or tacky souveneirs.
Worth sticking your head in to as you leave the fantastic Aquarium - but definitely not a reason in itself to visit the Tempozan Harbour Village.

The worst tower that I ever ride in Japan. It is dirty, and not good feeling when you ride it.

Q: Hi, I will be travelling to Osaka in a few days and I would like to ask when will the rush hours be around? Thanks!

A: I don't live in Osaka, but rush hour should be the same as in every other major city. 7:30-9:00am and 5:30-7:00pm. If it is anything like Tokyo, the evening rush can...
