Shinsaibashi

by gogonicetrip

Shinsaibashi known as the city's main shopping center, located north of Namba.Amerika Mura is an American-themed area of Shinsaibashi, and is a center of Osaka's youth culture. Large and small stores are common in Amerika-mura and along the parallel streets Mido-suji that is a major through street with larger stores and a major subway line, and Shinsaibashi-suji that is a mostly mall-style covered street in Shinsaibashi.Several boutiques concentrates on the north side of Shinsaibashi using old bank offices.Various visitors came to Shinsaibashi in this way.

I'm torn between calling the Premium Outlet a good chance for shopping, or a tourist trap. I've called it a "department store," but unlike Japanese "depaato" it is a collection of separate shops. It's built on the relatively uncrowded "reclaimed" land that was built as part of the construction of Kansai airport, and has a decidedly suburban feel. Since there are many North American brands, you can find larger sizes relatively easily. If you're a homesick North American, you'll also feel like you're in any suburb in the US or Canada. Prices are similar to most department stores, but...
