by ChicoChavo Find a ramen noodle place . . . . the food is so good that you order the food by getting a ticket from a vending machine. You are then segregated from all other customers (you eat in a cubby hole). This way you can concentrate on the good food. You can order it by how much spice and flavor you want. by madar This is a quite big restaurant near the inner city of Tokushima, popular by local people. Serving traditional japanese food, fish, noodles, rice also. the days special was unagi (eel), in a set with udon noodle soup. Tasty., more than enough for a hot summer lunch and very quickly served.
Actually I ate here only once.. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageDirections: Near the Awa-odori kaikan (museum of the Awa dance) and the main river of Tokushima.

A soba house in Kamakura. by worldkiwi This is not a single restaurant tip. Throughout Japan, one of the most affordable authentic dining experiences you can have is at a Soba House. It helps to learn the Japanese script for a Soba House, so you can find them easily when you're hungry. As their name implies, you will get soba there. Soba are noodles, like Italian spaghetti, cooked in a soup like way with vegetables and sometimes meat. You will usually get miso with your meal and possibly even some tempura (battered vegetables or prawns). This Soba House is in Kamakura. We had a warming and surprisingly filling meal there one chilly evening when we visited Kamakura on a day trip from Tokyo. Food by Chilie Whenever there is a festival in Japan (and there are loads!), there food stalls everywhere. Don't worry, Japan is clean, you won't get stomach problems. It is cheap and a great way to chat and laugh with the locals.

Sushi Satisfied by HisRoyalDoogness Tsuskiji is the place where the main fish market is in Tokyo. Most locals will tell you that the best sushi restaurants are to be found in this general area. This place is great and the prices are extremely low for Tokyo. It's simple to get here, just take the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and get off at the Tsuskiji stop. When you emerge out of the train stations, signs will point you in the direction of the fish market. When you've only gone about a block, at the first traffic light past a Bhuddist temple, take a left. Go maybe a hundred feet and you will see on the right side of the street something that looks like merchant stalls and a small street. Take a right here. This will take you back into the many fish market shops. After a few more hundred feet, the restaurant is on your left. You end up at a very cool place called Sushizanmai. For you GPS owners the coordinates are 35 39.963N and 139 46.239E. You'll know you're in the right place if you enter a two story sushi bar and you receive a rousing welcome from the entire staff in Japaneese.
Everything on the menu was great. I highly recommend the Salmon and they have about 7 different types of tuna from very cheap to very expensive that is very good. U can try Uni which is Sea Urchin Roe for a bit of the exotic and that's just the beginning. Have a little Sake with your sushi to make the experience complete Leave a Comment Theme: Japanese/SushiPrice: US$31-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Tsuskiji Fish MarketPhone: 03-3541-1117Directions: Metro Hibiya Line to the Tsuskiji stop.
