Yamame shop: A fish restaurant in the middle of nowhere

by SELVA73

In the middle of the mountains, near to Shizuoka city, there's a local restaurant popular called "Yamame Shop" and its a only fish restaurant.Their principal attractive is the Yamame. It's a fish taken from the river and they cook it in many kinds: sashimi, fried, on oven style....and the best: at the barbecue! They make other things at the barbecue as : shiitake -japanese mushrooms-, chicken (as yakitori).... This place is known for the Yamame at the barbecue. They put one fish near the barbecue and then they left him a couple of minutes.... Then, its ready to it! I've ate a minicrabs made also at the barbecue -they remind me a chips-....

Ramen: Ramen

by pharsadi

This restaurant is located inside a market called "The Wholesalers Market Towers, Tokyo". After walking and sightseeing the whole day, it's a good place to come to for a quick and warm dinner. It's more of a fast food type. Besides ramen, they also serve some other food like gyoza. The regular ramen (not the spicy).

Street Vendor: Local Food

by pharsadi

So you've been walking for miles after sightseeings or shopping or whatnot. You've now arrived at the Asakusa Tempe in Tokyo and you see lots of vendors selling food. It's around lunchtime, and you're hungry. Or maybe you're hungry just of the vendors selling food. So you're thinking "Why don't I just sit down at any of the vendors, and order food there" right? Well, technically, yes, you could do that. But if you can wait to go to other restaurants, that'd be better.I'm not saying that all the food there are all that bad. No. If you want to get something quick to go, some of them are ok. I'd just recommend that if you want to sit down and eat at one of the vendors, you might want to consider other places. The takoyaki was good.

Izakaya restaurant: Relax and Chill

by pharsadi

A very nice restaurant with japanese fusion cuisine. The ambiance is very nice and relaxing. It might look like a small restaurant when you just look at it from the outside, but when you're inside, mann.. you feel like you're in a different world. You have to go down the stairs to get into the restaurant's main floor. They decorate it very nicely with small ponds, fish, and lights. Talking with the locals, people usually come to this kind of places after work to eat, hangout, and drink. Chicken Karage, Sushi, Sashimi

Tip Photo
Ramen: Ramen by the lake

by pharsadi

Very nice and warm inside, especially coming from a cold weather outside. Dont forget to take off your shoes before you enter the restaurant. This restaurant offers several different kinds of noodles. I notice that people in Japan dont usually share their food in restaurants, even though the noodles come in a very big bowl. Tempura soba

Tip Photo
Stamina: Meat meat... and more meat

by pharsadi

This restaurant is inside a huge mall named Lalaport in Toyosu. This is around Tokyo. Like common bbq places, you can smell good food when you walk by it. It was kind of a torture when we had to wait 30 minutes to get seated. This place offers yakiniku. Taken from wikipedia, Yakiniku (焼き肉 or 焼肉) is the Japanese style of cooking bite-sized meat (usually beef) and vegetables over a charcoal or gas burner, or on a griddle. People usually order rice and fresh vegetables alongside the meat. They way they eat yakiniku is this, cook the meat, take a piece of lettuce, wrap the cooked meat inside the lettuce, put sauces in it.. and eat it...... Itadakimas!! Marinated Sliced Beef..... tender & juicy

Tip Photo
Vending machines

by gogonicetrip

You can find a lot of Vending Machines during traveling Japan. These dispense all kinds of snacks, soft drinks, chilled or hot coffee, green tea, and even cans beer. The machines are easy to use, prices are reasonable, and change is automatically dispensed with item.[Back to Japan]
