Atami is in Shizuoka Prefecture which is famous for Green Tea, so this will be the main item. In addition, there are many delightfully outdated shopping arcades outside of JR station. For local craft, particularly noteworthy is the Hakone Wood Mosaic Inlay which is a lovely if somewhat expensive item - later I'll post a photo of my secret-combination-slide-open box! Local varieties of fishes and fish products are also good. Any of these would be prepared for taking home or presentation gift wrapped if you require it.
