If considering visiting Taiseki-Ji remember that this is NOT open to the general public but only to genuine Nichioren Shoshu Buddhists whose lay members are known as the "Hokkeko". Security is ultra-modern and very efficient so you will not get in unless you are a genuine Hokkeko pilgrim. Members of the Sokka Gakai are especially strongly denied any form of access and warned to stay away. The Gakkai were formerly members of Nichiren Shoshu but were excomunicated en masse by the High Priest a decade ago after slanderously misusing the teachings for personal gain and materialistic objectives over many decades to such a degree that they are now considered the main enemies of the true teachings. If you come across them, have nothing to do with them, especially socially, as they have become a malign organisation and number many unstable folk amongst their ranks.
So if you are not Hokkeko go to Mount Fuji which can be climbed in about 12 hours. You will find a hotel and a Post Office at the summit and "not many people know that!"
