This natural park is selected to be one of the hundred beautiful white sand and green pine coasts, and is well known as the best scenic spot along the Tokaido road through the ages.

Since this area was deeply associated with poets and men of letters, many memorials to literature and poems of Bokusui Wakayama, Yasushi Inoue, Kankai Ikeya, Chikurei Kakuta and Kaijin Akashi were built in this park.

The path in the pine grove attracts widespread popularity as a walking or jogging course. It is also used as triathlon and marathon courses
