I really dont care for the dish, its way to slimey for me..;)....after said that..Tororo (grated yam) is blended with white miso soup and poured over rice with barley. A favorite of travelers of both the ancient past and today, there are several Tororo Jiru restaurants in Mariko that still serve this taste of long ago.
So ....for those who care to eat the stuff....there is a Tororo Jiru restaurant in Mariko which is along the historical Tokaido Road dating back to the Edo Period, it also appear in the famous block printer Hiroshige's artwork....

There are two restaurant in the facility at SUMPU TAKUMI SHUKU, this one has a selection of Shizuoka local cuisines...
Even the chopsticks, bowls and dishes are also made in Shizuoka...
