Shizuoka Festival (early April)
It features a Cherry Blossom Big Parade.
It remembers the cherry blossom viewing, conducted by Tokugawa Ieyasu (a founder of the edo Shogunate Government) in the early 17th century.
Also a number of local residents participate in the event to enjoy the Night Cherry Blossom Dancing.

This was the first Japanese shrine I ever visited and it's quite interesting to see what's going on, the worshippers, the huge sake bottles (made me thirsty), the old buildings. There is also an ancient tomb nearby but I can't remember who it belongs to. If you are reading this you might remind me I need to find out ! :)

There's a very nice hiking route in the southern part of Izu Peninsula. It is in Kawazu Town. Kawazu-Nanadaru(Kawazu 7 falls) has great scenes remind us of Japanese-style gardens. When you walk, you'll see 7 beautiful falls, Odaru, Deaidaru, Kanidaru, Shokeidaru, Hebidaru, Ebidaru, and Kamadaru.
The photo shows Shokeidaru and the statue of izu-no-odoriko.
