Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour by hopang Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour was a 15 minute exciting walk through guided tour in the dark through halls and caverns at Cinderella Castle at Fantasyland at the center of Tokyo Disneyland Resort. It was opened to the public in 1983. Unfortunately it closed permanently in 2006. The Cinderella Castle itself is a popular landmark of Tokyo Disneyland. It is certainly a child's favourite structure and symbol at the Disneyland. The Cinderella Castle is brightly and colourfully illuminated at night - truly an ideal spot to have your souvenir snapshot taken either day or night! Fujisan, sakura...ufffff this is too much!!! ;) by PolishChick Every nation has that one beloved thing which it cherishes above everything else. But no other nation cherishes it as much as the Japanese cherish Mt. Fuji!!! Mt. Fuji is Japan`s most recognizable symbol and one of it`s most beautiful sights. Fujisan is with 3776 meters Japan's highest mountain. It is nearly perfectly shaped and has been worshipped as a sacred mountain for centuries. It`s a dormant volcano, which most recently erupted in 1708. It stands on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka Prefectures and can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama on clear days. The Japanese totally love it. They love to watch it and even have special observation places where they go JUST to watch it. I swear- when we were close to Nagano, our Japanese friend took us up a mountain JUST because there was a pretty view of Fujisan there!!! Her mom couldn`t come with because of a broken leg, so my friend immediately took a picture with her cell and sent it to her mom, so she could enjoy Fujisan as well! If that ain`t love, I don`t know what is...Note, if you give a Japanese BOTH Mt.Fuji and Sakura (cherry bloosom) at the same time, that might be TOO MUCH pleasure, if you know what I mean..... ;) The easiest and quickest way to view Mount Fuji is from the train on a trip along the Tokaido Line between Tokyo and Osaka. If you take the shinkansen from Tokyo in direction of Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka, the best view of Mount Fuji can be enjoyed from around Shin-Fuji Station on the right hand side of the train, about 40 to 45 minutes after leaving Tokyo. However, that clouds often block the view of Mount Fuji, and you have to consider yourself lucky if you get a clear view of the mountain. Visibility tends to be better during the colder seasons than in summer, and in the early morning and late evening hours. If you want to enjoy Mount Fuji at a more leisurely pace and from a nice natural surrounding, you should head to the Fuji Five Lake (Fujigoko) region at the northern foot of the mountain, or to Hakone, a nearby hot spring resort. This pure white castle is worth a full day trip if you're in the Kansai area. Being one of the most beautiful sights in Japan its a visit nobody should miss! It is a world herritage sight and todays castle dates back to 1580 (there has been forts here since 1333). It has central tower (donjon) with 5 storyes and three smaller donjons. Its surrounded by moats and heavy walls with openings for firing guns and arrows. Take a tour inside, follow the arrows - this takes about 90minutes. See the spot for harakiri, the ritual suicide of the samurai. Let the view from the top take your breath away. English guides are available and these tours are free. And whilst in Himeji take a right at the carpark when exiting the castle and visit the old samurai quarters, Himeji Koko-en. Magnificent gardens and a peaceful strole after the climb up to Himeji castle top. Go here first if you have time since here you can buy a ticket valid for both the quarters and the castle which is not possible if you do it vice versa... This ticket ends up being cheaper than paying for admission seperatly. Castle open: 9am-4pm (Sep-May) 9am-5pm (June-Aug) Address: 68 Hon-machi, Himeji.Directions: 15min walk from Himeji station. Follow signs.
