Lake Chuzenji-ko is a scenic lake in Nikko National Park in the city of Nikko.
It was created 20,000 years ago when Mount Nantai erupted and blocked the river. The lake has a surface area of 11.62 km² and a circumference of 25 km. Its elevation at the surface is 1269 m. The water reaches a depth of 163 m. The Yukawa is the principal source of water. It drains through the Kegon Falls.
The lake can be admired on foot or by taking a cruise or hiring roeboat.
You will enjoy wonderful view of the lake from Chanokidaira, where the viewing platform is accesible by cable car from Chuzenji Onsen.

Kegon Falls (Kegon-no-taki) are definitly worth to visit in Nikko, and are located at Lake Chuzenji-ko in Nikko National Park.
At 97m hight to Daiwa river.
An elevator through the chiff runs to obsevation deck at the base of the waterfalls.

Nikko Tosyogu, is a shrine which is the mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu shogun, is a complex of highly ornate shrine buildings and gateways, completed in 1636 and designed in the rococo Chinese style then fashionable.
The shrine is listed on World Heritage Site and designated a National Treasure.
