Favorite thing: Believe it or not, this is happening here... no one is looking at anyone anymore.
It's a techie world... the cellphone has evolved to something that one talks to, talks with & plays with. Even in her sleep! ;-)
Never leave home without it...
Never be caught without it...
U are nothing unless u have it!
Oh, btw, good news for all travelers...
Tokyo has updated its networks & systems.
Now, GSM phones function here!
Hurray!!! Next time I'm bringing MINE!!! Hehe...
If you forget yours, just buy one! ;-)
Life is great, isn't it?!
Just make sure you are not caught on candid camera doing something you ought not to!!!
Featuring the cutest Japanese guy ;-)
Favorite thing: I did say he's cute, right? Just like his sons!
I've seen pix of them, cutest little chaps... no doubt who they took after :-)
Well, these Japanese kids are truly adorable... I saw so many while taking my walk in Ueno Park & then on the mountain as well.
It's the weekends, so if you venture into non-touristy areas you get the joy of observing how the locals enjoy their time with the family & loved ones.
Hey, Satoshi, how about bringing your entire family out for the next VT meet? ;-)
So far I've already met his 2 "in-laws"... very fun & friendly people :-)
The Earliest VT Meet Ever! 5 am!
Favorite thing: Ok, I've been to Tokyo many times & have eaten Sushi all my life, it seems!
BUT, have you ever met another VTer at 5 am in the morning for a VT meet?
Ever eat Sushi early in the morning for breakfast?
This proves to be a very fun experience.
Something new & unique to treasure for life!
Something I'll always remember for many years to come!
Fondest memory: Thanks to VTer Satoshi for a memorable time & for waking up so early to meet some "stranger" for the first time, at 5 am!
& I only had less than 3 hours sleep the night before since my dinner with Atsuko & Dimitris left me in such an exuberant mood that I could hardly fall asleep!
Yet, I was wide awake at Tsukiji Fish Market!
For the first time I had actually seen salmon & tuna being auctioned off & "operated on" by the "last samurai"!
A definitely eye-opener!Related to:

Friends for life...
Favorite thing: If there's anything I'm thankful for in life, it's the numerous online friends from all over the world I've been lucky to meet over the years on this wonderful site.
Friends who have become real friends...
Friends who show up for life, for you & for everything we believe in...
Yes, I've been extremely lucky! :-)))
Fondest memory: On this 4-days trip to Tokyo (probably my 20th something) I met Atsuko (again) & the love of her life, Dimitris (another VTer & one of those VT romance that's working well! 1st time but I'm sure there'll be many more)!
It was great fun meeting both of you & thank you so much for the marvelous hike on the most beautiful Sunday!
Though I'm aching all over now & have to return to the mundane work, it was such a joyful experience to experience Spring & Sakura with both of you!
For that, I'm eternally grateful! :-)))Related to:

Favorite thing: Who says there is not much to do in Tokyo? There are plenty of places to visit, eat and shop. Meet the funky youth with their worldly unique (or peculiar) fashion. Stuff your wallet with Mr. Fukuzawa (man portraied on 1000 yen notes). Yes, Tokyo can drain your money out any minute!
Favorite thing: Roppongi is an area in Tokyo which is famous for its nightlife. There are many pubs, shops and restaurants here including the Hard Rock Cafe. Many people go to Roppongi to have a good time.Related to:
