When most people think of maid cafes the east side of Tokyo, specifically Akihabara, comes to mind. What this little gem is doing all the way out in Shinjuku in the middle of Kabukicho (Korean town) is anyone’s guess. Certainly this place is better than the average maid café one would find on the east side of town, with its beautiful laid back décor, soft lighting, friendly staff and opened ness towards gaijin (foreigners).
The owner can speak English, a big plus in the maid café world, and the staff that can’t are generally well attentive to the your needs and seem all to happy to try to talk with you.
Another big plus is the English menu, with a pretty decent selection of drinks, including Chimay beer (a real favorite of mine)!
The bar has a cover charge of 500 yen (for a table seat) and 700 yen for a counter seat which give you maximum time with the maids.
Karaoke will set you back 300 if you’re a guy. It’s all free for the ladies though. Maids will also sing anime songs to entertain the customers. Yes, the fun factor is extremely high at this energetic place.
The hours are very good as well, with a closing of 5am.
So, come on down to Kabukicho and check out Chloe.

There's lots of drinking joints around this place. So check them out, you'll be spoilt for choices as there's a pub that is themed almost everything. Saw lots of Bavarian pubs, pubs offering "live" oldies, pubs that only offer music from the Beatles, etc etc.
Japanese beer is not too bad too, I particularly like Asahi for its dry and almost fruity aftertaste.
Dress Code: As mentioned earlier, you can dress shabily and be mistaken for a vagrant. I forgot to add that you'll also be recognised as a foreigner...yes, most Japanese think that foreigners are badly dressed anyway so you can wear anything you like.

What else can you do in a city that never sleeps? Skim on your beauty sleep and stroll around at night . Join the crowds and:
1) Eat to your hearts' content in Omoide-yokocho and Yakitori-yokocho ( west of the train station). That's the place where you'll find lots of restaurants and pubs.
2) Shop till you drop at Takashimaya and the other shopping centres at the eastern side of the train station ...
Dress Code: This is a trendy place so let your common sense guide you. Dress shabily and get mistaken for an illegal foreign worker or a vagrant.
