There's no real need to go to Ahkihabara to look for electronic goods. There's a mini-akhihabara of sorts in shinjuku itself . Just take the west exit from the station and you'll find lots of little shops selling the latest gizmos at reasonable prices.

Shopping in Shinjuku malls can really be expensive, so head for the smaller shops in the backalleys . Or better still, shop @ Shibuya or Harajuku instead, items are cheaper downtown. Still, the malls are worth taking a look- the Japanese retail industry are the REAL trend-setters in this region.
What to buy: While you're at it, head for the food courts at the basements, I must say that the cakes and other confectionary items @ the foodcourts there are really yummy....

It is conveniently located near to the Takashimaya Times Square shopping centre near to the Shinjuku sub-way station. This sports shop is huge and it has one building specially for golf goods and another building (five storeys) for other sports goods.
