Heading north of the Kitanomaru-koen Park, another 5 mins walk from the Science Mesuem, here lies the Budokan hall. It was built in the 1960s purpose to hold judo events, but it is now more famously the Tokyo venue for big name singers' concert hall. Leave a Comment

I do not understand Pachinko... and why people spend few hours sitting down there looking at the machine. My friend told me this is a kind of gambling, one can exchange for money, charlolate, biscuits, toys, etc with the metal balls. This one is located in Koiwa, a suburb small town. Most shops closed at 8-9pm, while this 2 storey Pachinko still open and fully packed with customers, amazing! Leave a Comment

Short lived flower They were radiant few days ago...Beautiful cherry blossoms are the excuse to have an outdoor party called "Hanami". Millions et, dance and sing under the Sakura trees. The fragile flower will be gone with wind few days later...Are they equally beautiful scattered between stones?
It is a budhist phrase. Althouhg, I am not a religious person (not at all!) it makes sense to me: Saku Sakura, Chiru Sakura. Which translates as Blossom Sakura, Scattered Sakura. It is up to you to give this phrase a meaning. Could Roberta's motto an equivalent? : "Never expect too much and you`ll never be disappointed!" Leave a Comment

Annk choose this picture because it reflects the contrast of the old and traditional and the modern. It is a view form the main building of the complex denominated Kozoji. The buildings are the back are not the highest in Tokyo but the constrast is there...And Tokyo, and Japan is that: contrast. Leave a Comment

Aslyhan (with an accent in y) live is Istanbul, a visit that I dream with visiting, the melting pot of "all" cultures in the days of Suleyman. The main gate of a budhist temple is perhaps for her something different. Kozoji has this magnificent tall main gate, seen from inside, but it also has this beautiful pine in front of it. It will be difficult to explain... In a city "enyoing" one of the highest population density, I do considered an oasis a place where I can be alone and enjoy few minutes of introspection. Few meters away from here, there is Tokyo Tower, which is a sort of Tesla tesla magnet for visitors. How they manage to avoid these spot is a secret i do not want to "revelau", yet. Leave a Comment

Tokyo is not really a monster of concrete. It has lot of parks and greenery scattered in the few square nanoinches inhabited by 10 millions strong (the polulation of metropolitan Tokyo and surroundings hit 23 millions a while ago). Sakura trees can offer their fresh light color few days a year. They can surprise your sight betwwen the green of other less colorful trees. It is important those trees are there. Green is always refreshing and the shade of them is glory in the humid and hot days of the Archipelago summer.

Tokyo, as every big city in Japan, enjoyes a very well developed public transportation system. Why then have we this colorful carnaval of taxies around stations? Good question!!! My guess is that the Japanes society see in punctuality an important matter. Sometimes you get into the taxi to get on time. One just rides for few blocks. When time and weather permited it, people prefers to walk. But do not get upset for the price!!!!
650 yen for just few blocks could be a high price but that day your punctuality (your sense of responsability) wins at least 3000 ratings, from at least three different IP adress. Click. Click. The sense of discipline is also important. see how those taxies just queue waiting for customers. This world is not for the agressive drivers but for the patientes. Patience will turn into agrresivity once they get their customer. Like in every country and big city, taxi drivers are SOBber when they drive. Leave a Comment
