A very popular tourist spot combining natural beauty and history. Set in a lush cryptomeria forest, the magnificent Toshogu Shrine complex inspired the saying "Never say splendid until you've seen Nikko." What to see and do: Visit Toshogu's elaborate Yomeimon Gate; photograph the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" monkey carving and sleeping-cat carving; visit the tomb of the first Tokugawa shogun; tour Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji; eat rainbow trout. Access: 2 hrs to Nikko from Asakusa Stn by Tobu Line train. The shrine complex is within walking distance. Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls are reached by bus via sharply winding Irohazaka road. Access: 1 hr from Tokyo Stn by JR Yokosuka Line.

In a city as large as Tokyo it is impossible to think of it as a whole and so the city is commonly broken down into different neighborhoods. Leave a Comment

Catch a glimpse of MOUNT FUJI: the world famous FUJI-SAN is on everyone's itinerary if you are on a tour to Tokyo. To be able to see the snow-capped mountain is considered very lucky. So, brace yourself for a spiritual journey! Icon of peace & serenity, this mountain has been regarded as home of the gods. Fuji-san lies about 60 miles (97 km) southwest of Tokyo & is the highest mountain in Japan (12460 ft / 3798 m). Oldest lavas here have been dated as 8000 years old; a young volcano!
The five lakes arched around the northern side of Mt. Fuji are an added bonus on this one-day excursion. Lake Kawaguchi is one of the most frequently visited lake on the 1 day-tour. Leave a Comment

Day Trip to NIKKO: simply unforgettable in Autumn; with colorful Momiji (Japanese version of maple leaf) filling the mountains with life! TOSHO-GU SHRINE is the most interesting building in Nikko. The decorations and relief carvings depicting the life-cycle of the monkey are one not to be missed. Look out for the famous 'hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil' threesome which have become emblematic of Nikko.
One of my favorite Autumn vacation, aside from Canada which have the most beautiful Autumn season I've ever witnessed! Leave a Comment

Ticket needed for Sanrio Theme Park located in Tama City, Tokyo. This theme park featured the famous Hello Kitty & other Sanrio merchandise characters. I find that the ticket is a little pricey, as compare the Disneyland which is more worthwhile. Sanrio Puroland Tickets Information When you visit Sanrio Puroland, there are very scenic views along your train ride. Hop on the express training first and change into locomotive mode when it's nearly to the city where Sanrio Puroland located. Leave a Comment

I had one of the best days of my life when I did a day trip to MT FUJI.I travelled by bus to Mt Fuji 3rd stop for memory, took some great photos (clear day lucky me)then bus to a sulphure spring where you boil an egg and it turns black, then you eat it and you are supposed to live 7 years longer.next you go down the mountain by sky chair woooowww, till you get to Lake Hakone,a lake in a volcano crater, sail up the lake in a pirate like ship to the bus at the other end.You then have a choice to go back to Tokyo central by bus or by Bullit train,,what a day
