    It is famous but the tower is a radio tower. Every ground telecast from Tokyo is transmitted through this tower. And the shape of it is modelled after The Eiffel Tower in Paris. It was built in 1958 and is 333meters high. It's a ruin of "modern architecture" today.

    I just wonder, how many of those who live in Tokyo have ever looked out over the city from the upper observatory of this? I just did it after the age of 35. No, I never had gone up before. I've thought it was just another tourist attraction. And I knew now it was juat another tourist attraction. Yes, folks. It is definitely a tourist attraction.

    Tokyo Tower - The object of attacks from Godzilla - was erected in 1958 as a broadcasting tower. Taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris, make it the world's highest self-supporting iron tower.

    Tokyo Tower can be seen from far in many places. This night view from Roppongi is VERY BEAUTIFUL! I heard that the tower will change colour to match different seasons. Orange colour for spring/summer.

    TOKYO TOWER
    A red & white version of the Eiffel Tower, you can have a superb panoramic of te city, unless you climb up on a foggy day (yes, that's what we did, don't remind me!).
    It was built in 1958 30 feet higher than Eiffel Tower, but 3000 tons lighter due to advancements in steel manufacturing and construction technology. On a clear day, you can see Mt.Fuji and Mt.Tsukuba. Tokyo Tower broadcasts all 9 of Japan's television stations and 5 FM radio stations. Cameras on the tower also monitor city traffic.

    There are 2 tickets sold separately to get to the top of Tokyo Tower. The first ticket will get you to the middle section, where lots of merchants will sell you stuffs. The second ticket will get you to the observation section.

    The view from Tokyo Tower is magnificent. I can't describe for you, but you've to do-it-yourself.


    There are rubber stamps for you to make stamping on your tickets at both observation levels. You can stamp them however way you want it, just don't take/steal the stamping home.

    No, this is not Paris. This is the City of Tokyo at nightfall which I've managed to capture on film. It looks magical eh?

    Can you spot the famous Tokyo Tower (the Eiffel Tower like monument) and the Zojo-ji Temple in the distance??

    This is an aerial shot of the city of Tokyo. Can you see the regal Tokyo Tower (red and white Eiffel-Tower like structure) in the distance?? Stupendous!

    This is the beautiful City of Tokyo - taken from the Tokyo Tower. I just loooove Tokyo!! Sometimes I really wish that the standard of living here isn't thaaat high. It's more expensive to live in Tokyo than in ANY other city in the U.S.A., London or Scandinavia. Can you believe it? Sigh....

    photograph the magnificent Tokyo Tower - AT NIGHT!!! This monument literally lighted up the entire Tokyo skyline and somehow, you can't help but marvel at the similiarities between the Eiffel Tower and this. Hm... :-))
