Opened two years ago, Ageha is the biggest, brashest and best-fitted out club in Tokyo. In a city where most "dance clubs" are squeezed into tiny basements, it boasts a 6000 capacity main room, a side dance-floor, several bars and an outdoor terrace (complete with swimming pool) overlooking a river!!
The downside is that it is located in the until-recently-industrial area of ShinKiba, in the middle of nowhere.
This has beencircumvented however, with the use of free shuttle buses which will take you to and from Roppongi,Shibuya or Shinjuku...a great idea !
The party at Ageha varies - so check a listings magazine. But DJs like frankie Knuckles and Junior Vasquez usually play here and its famous gay party, "Paradise Ball" is held every two months.
Featuring a house theme on the main floor, hip hop and R&B by the pool, a darkroom "orgy area"(!), sexy and fabulously costumed gogo boys performing all night and several thousand of Tokyo`s hottest young things (and visitors from all over Asia) its not to be missed!
Usually 4000 yen.
Dress Code: Usual club wear - but beware, Tokyo boys know how to dress and its easy to feel dowdy by comparison!.
