Bring an omiyage when visiting someone's home

Miscellaneous: When visiting someone's home in Japan, it is customary to bring an "omiyage" or a gift of some sort. Probably a souvenir from your local home will be very appreciated. It is almost unheard of for a Japanese person to show up empty handed at someone's house.
