Matsuya is a fast food outlet where you drop coins into a vending machine and choose the food you want. for those who can't read Japanese (like me), make sure you select an outlet that has vending machines that show pics of the food AND their prices, so you know exactly what and how much you are going to pay to eat.
the Japs are so detailed to the point that they show little pics of eggs cut in the middle and the yolk oozing out to show it's soft boiled, or with the hard yolks to show hard boiled.
when they show just a whole egg, it is RAW. the Japs seem to like mixing it into their rice. I wasn't so keen, with visions of salmonella floating around. the Japs must do something to their eggs to avoid the contamination. never heard or seen any Japs coming down with salmonella.

A very simple fast food restaurant that you cannot miss it as it is everywhere in the streets. A very cosy place to eat a meal as you just have to wait for your order. There are also a lot of selection of different set meals to choose from. Very delicious and tasty food that they serve.
Favorite Dish: I like the curry rice set. Simply very delicious and tasty.

24 hours and virtually can be found anywhere in Tokyo. Good spot if you're hungry, have no money and can't speak the language. The place has a little vending machine where you can insert money and receive a ticket. Don't expect a 5* meal though, but do expect to get a fair variety for a 24 hr fast food joint.
Favorite Dish: hamburger steak w/egg teishoku- decent deal with salad, miso soup.
