Sangokuichi: Great food, great prices, great location!

I went here with two other people and we all agreed the food was great. We also enjoyed our seats on the second floor overlooking Shinjuku. While we were reliant on a simple phrasebook for communication, we had no trouble ordering our meals, and the waiter was very patient and helpful.

We were in Tokyo for part of our orientation before our summer student exchanges started and had been given 1,000 yen each to go get dinner. We didn't even use all of our money up to eat here.

Definitely a memorable first real Japanese meal for us :) Couldn't have been better.

Favorite Dish: I chose the misokatsu udon by looking at the display outside the restaurant. It wasn't on the menu we were given but they made it anyway. It was absolutely amazing! Everything about it was perfect.

Sangokuichi Udon Restaurant, Shinjuku, Tokyo.

This Udon restaurant (udon are thick noodles) is located just west of the Shinjuku JR station, but I can't remember the name of the road it's on. It's not far from the Shinjuku post office and the highway bus terminal.
Prices here are reasonable and you can enjoy traditional udon dishes.
