all over the fish market there are places that serve the freshest sushi - they literally scoop the fish out of the tank, skin, gut it, cut it, throw it on some rice and serve it to you. you're eating fish that's been dead less than a minute.

Favorite Dish: any of the sushi or sashimi is phenomenal. this is hands down the best sushi you're ever going to get.

There are so many... One of the very good & fresh Sashimi/Sushi (Raw Fish) restaurant can be found right at the Narita International Airport (Terminal 1, center building). I think the restaurant is called Tsukiji Sushi-Iwa Restaurant. There's also another outlet at Takashimaya in Shinjuku. Alternatively, a wide variety of choices can be found at SEIBU's (AT IKEBUKURO STATION) 7th Floor, the biggest departmental stores with 13 floors of retail space!

If you don't read/speak/write Japanese, just check the window display before going into the restaurant. Most waitresses don't speak English in Japan!

Favorite Dish: Japanese cream & custard puffs, Sashimi (Raw fish), Sushi, Teppanyaki, Teriyaki, Tempura, Soba, etc... etc... & not forgetting Green Tea!
