Hope off the train at Shimbashi station (shiodome area is directly connected) and take a walk around the shiodome area. Its a fairly new area with a lot of skyscrapers, so many infact that you do not see the sun!
If you look hard enough there are some very nice resturants inside some of the skyscrapers.

Around our hotel in Shiodome there's a lot of things to do such as shopping and dining in Caretta Mall, watching the morning crew of Nippon Television film live during the morning rush hour, or walking to places like Tsukiji Market and the shopping district of Ginza. One morning we stopped at the television station to see if we could get on tv but to no avail. Instead we watched as they were filming and broadcasting on the large screen tv found on a nearby building. A handful of tall good looking gentlemen walked past us escorted by security--celebrities or a boy band we thought but weren't sure. There's also a busy and cute store featuring Anpanman nearby.

This is a very nice part of Tokyo. They have put some restaurants around the station and inside the station, you will find some nice shops. One of the restaurant i tried had Asian-Fusion cuisine and the food was excellent. The area is an excellent place to realx with friends as shown on the picture.

The newest skyscrapers in Tokyo are found in Shiodome. The view from the restaurantfloor is awesome. You can see the fishmarket and the rainbowbridge amongst other things.
