Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Narita International Airport have huge duty free areas for shopping and you can buy practically anything there (even branded ones like Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel, Jimmy Choos and other international brands plus local japanese brands and delicacies and souvenirs which are a little bit more expensive than in downtown tokyo) and also the prescence of the iconic vending machines. the departure lounge also have ergonomic seats and also offer massage services for 2000 yen an hour.

Having flown with Japan Airlines for 18 hours, I didn't feel bored. I was entretained by the movies, music, games and all the entertainment this airplane has to offer. Even though we departured one hour delayed, we arrive 15 minutes before the original schedule.

Y3,000 or $30 one way from Narita into Tokyo. Note: a taxi from Narita is around $200 USD. Airport Limosine bus stops at major hotels and at major train stations, such as Shinjuku or Tokyo station for those catching a shinkansen. If you have alot of luggage and are coming from a long flight you may not want to deal with the Narita express train.

Delta is one of main US air carriers that use Tokyo Narita as their hub form Asia Pacific market. Mostly they offer reasonable cheap tickets if your final destination is Tokyo. My ticket was a lot cheaper than other major carriers in Taiwan.
Also, they offer a proper meal with delightful service, but they do NOT have PTV from some of their destination, including my Taipei.
As far as I can remember, they offer flights from Narita to Taipei, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Nagoya, Osaka, Manila, Singapore, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Guam, and Saipan.

Northwest primarily operates a hub and spoke route system with hubs in Amsterdam, Detroit, Memphis, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Tokyo. Northwest is the world's sixth largest airline in terms of domestic and international scheduled passenger miles flown and the U.S.'s sixth largest airline in terms of domestic passenger miles flown before it merged with Delta and now Delta is the LArgest Airline in the World. In addition to operating one of the largest domestic route networks in the U.S., Northwest carries more passengers across the Pacific Ocean than any other U.S. carrier hence it is a favorite of asians like me for transpacific flights and the easy accruage of air mileage in its Worldperks program but since then, Northwest was absorbed by Delta Airlines as of october 1 and since I am a Northwest Worldperks member, I automatically become a member of Delta's Skymiles and also I love their planes.

The Tokyo-Narita Airport has all the amenities that I wish we had at all major international airports here in the United States. If you have a long layover here there are a wide range of places to eat and shop. If you need to relax from a long trip across the Atlantic, check out the private showers and napping rooms available for a small fee. They will even wake you up in time for your next flight if you opt to use one of the sleeping rooms. This airport is large, but it’s easy to maneuver and the bookstores offer selections in English as well as (of course) Japanese and other languages. Be advised that Narita Airport is located 60km from the city center so plan accordingly.

Narita Airport is the largest international airport in Japan and a major connecting point for air traffic between Asia and the Americas. It serves as the main international hub of Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways, and as an Asian regional hub for Northwest Airlines and United Airlines.

The airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 for major foreign airlines (e.g. United, British Airways) and Terminal 2 for Japanese airlines and smaller foreign airlines. Trains connect directly to both and there is also a free shuttle bus between them. There are Citibank cash machines that accept international ATM/credit cards once you leave customs on the arrivals floor of both terminals.The airport is located nearly 70 kilometers northeast of Tokyo. It is generally modern and efficient, but can become crowded at immigration.

There are many ways to travel between Narita Airport and central Tokyo. For the first-time visitor, especially if jet-lagged or laden with luggage, almost certainly the easiest option is the Limousine Bus direct to your hotel. A close second is taking one of the express trains to Tokyo or Ueno Station. This is particularly effective if you have a Japan Rail Pass which can be activated at the airport.
