i thought it would be romantic to take a walk on the beach after dark, finally it would be empty of people...i could have not been more wrong!!! day or night in the summer, the beach is likely to be full of people!! in the evening families, couples and groups of teenagers gather on the beach to shoot fire works, the popular japanese summer activity :)) so u have no other choice than to go to the nearest "konbini" and get urself some to shoot!!!
if u wanna see something like in this pic, there are big fireworks arranged by the community, usually during obon august or end of july, check the tourist info for details.
Dress Code: anything u like, however why not try the japanese summer kimono "yukata"

you can rent bikes at the shirahama train station, where you can also leave ur backpack etc if you are carrying one. a mountain bike costs 2000 yen, a normal bike a little less. anyways its well worth the money and much more adventurous than going around in a car or a bus. we really loved biking around the peninsula, its perfectly sized for a day or two of biking!!!

the fire works are beautiful, but remember to be careful shooting them...best would be to shoot from a spot distant enough from other people, direct the sticks toward the ocean and wear protective goggles....however u will see nobody doing that!!! so be careful walking around in that chaotic mess of fire flowers!!!

....for the sake of the animals!!! of course a resort is not complete without an amusement park, and it might seem appealing to see the show of the killer whales, cute pandas or have a swim with dolphins, but before you do, think of the poor animals in captivity!!! for example, of all the 178 killer whales captured to the marine parks of the world, only 47 are still living to serve their "life sentence". so please take a second thought and do something adventorous in the wild nature surrounding you!!!
Unique Suggestions: to learn more about the subject: please have a look at this great website with very accurate information: http://www.orcaskillerbeauties.com/orcas_en.htm
Fun Alternatives: please do something to save & protect these majestic animals, instead of contributing to support their life in miserable captivity....
