Takidaki (sp): Seafood and Soba!

Takidaki is one of only two restaurants in the village. Mainly they serve fresh fish, seafood, sushi and noodles with sushi being the specialty. It's traditional Japanese and very local. Everyone seems to know everyone and it's just a great place to be. It is open until 10pm during the week except weds when they are closed. But they'll open for you if you ask ahead of time and make a reservation..and they know you. I work with the manager's daughter and am now a regular with discounts so I couldn't tell you the regular prices but it's very reasonable for Japan. Do ask about the "Legend" of the Takidaki fish found in lake Ootori. It's like their version of the Loch Ness Monster. You'll see what I mean... I'm a big fan of noodles...any kind of noodles really. So I go for the yaki soba or udon. But everything is good, just ask anyone in there!! The menu is in all Japanese and they all only...

Konnyaku Bansho: Don't Miss the Konnyaku Food!

Konnyaku, Amorphophaiius Konjac, is well known as healthy food, very low calorie. You can enjoy many kinds of Konnyaku dishes, like Konnyaku sushi, Konnyaku sashimi, Konnyaku noodle, Konnyaku rice porridge. Konnyaku yakitori, fried Konnyaku and so on.
