Miscellaneous: but if you decide to drive your car for Alpine Route, there is a span of area where cars are not permitted, between Tateyama and Ogizawa Stations. You may, however, commission one of various car courier companies who will drive your car from one point to the other while U enjoy your Alpine Route Trek.
ALSO! Along various stations between Tateyama or Omachi Stations, you may also similarly commission courier services to ferry to your heavy rucksacks in the morning and have your stuff waiting for you at the other side at the end of the day! We used this service and was glad to be free of burden during our trek. Except, please be aware that closing time for the pick-up points is around 17:00-18:00 so please confirm your transport schedule accordingly.
