Climb Mt. Fuji

by RoseAmano

During Summer Months of July and August, Mt. Fuji is officially open for climbing season., at which time there are bus routes which will run to a mid-point (so-called "5th Station" of Mt. Fuji), and mountain huts along the way for refreshments or rest. Usual hiking gear and average physical fitness for a moderately, but not extremely difficult hike. Clothing and Sun Protection to withstand about 0-5 deg C weather at the Summit (3700 metres).Allowing time and pacing speed to adjust to High Elevation Air. *I had warned my climbing colleague against rushing too quickly to get to the top, who then was suddenly struck violently ill only during the time at the top.*There is an excellent source of English Information at the following link:http://www.sunplus.com/fuji/scott/scott2-1.html
