Summit wasteland

The near freezing temperature, gusts of ice specks, and powerful wind make the summit resemble a nuclear winter...it is like another planet. The view from the summit and of the crater is striking and worth enduring the elements.

Resting at summit hut

The large hut at the summit of Mt. Fuji serve as a resting place before the hike down. It is relatively warm and you can take a nap, get super-hot drinks, snacks/noodles, and souvenirs.

Relaxing on the way down

The trek down Fuji-san is easier...once you're at cloud level, its almost over.

Be sure to relax and enjoy the scenery on a bed of clouds.
