this is a great opportunity to get some aloe juice drink for a very cheap price. if you drink a litre of this juice i guess it will be too strong for you but buy a bottle and drink it for a week. after a few zips you are not hungry anymore and you can skip a meal with this, just to clean your body, not as a substitute of course.

On one of the excursion i made along with the luthran group i was working has volunteer we went to this ostrich farm about 60km from almaty. on the way back to almaty we stoped to make a picknik aside the road. it started raining a little bit just for a few minutes but after the sun came back and we could enjoy the rest of the food.
it was a very nice time because i could intereact with children a lot. they all made many questions about my country and about many things they have in mind about europe and the world in general.
Favorite Dish: because i am vegetarian people didnt really knew what to do for me so they all prepared a lot of bioled vegetables for me.
i ate tomatoes, bread, potatoes carrots, rice juice kefir and some cheese.

This was the best restaurant i found in kazakhstan and in all central asia. this very nice and relaxed krishna restaurant with very beautiful girls for waiters, serves very tasty food. the dishes come in this fancy look with the enough quantity of food you need to feel alright with yourself not to feel full nor empty. this vegetarian indian restaurant is run by very interesting people that will invite you for their mountain refuge to make yoga and eat well along with meditation.
Favorite Dish: i like their yogurt juices very much. pastrys are also very tasty along with som lentils dishes.
you can have a full meal for about $3, $4 or $5 if you eat more than one dish. ifg you are hungry youll problably eat more than one dish.

As i explained on a few tips ago, i ended stayeing in almaty for many weeks and i started giving this painting workshops to children in this lutheran association. this was very interesting to me, cos i'm not lutheran. im not even christian, not baptised. i have a well defined idea about religions in the world, i like to know them but not invilve 100%.
like i was saying this was a interesting ipportunity to wrk eith people from kazakhstan, giving them some classes, going to summe camp and intereact with children. every morning we had to serve children breakfast and afternoon a smll snack between activities. bread, cookies and soda, juice was all there was.

This consisted on some bread, butter, iol, some type of berry jam. this berry jam was so delicious they laughed very much cos i couldnt stop eating it. some cookies and fresh tea made in wooden oven!
Favorite Dish: this is the best way to experience kazakh noamds way of life! they life inside this yurt (tent) in the midle of the mountains. they have 3 horses and about 30 sheeps, a riffle and many rice and flour to bake bread for a few months. they eat lots of sheep, that should be one of the reasons they have so many. they can take the skin to make warm clothes for the winter, meat to eat and milk to drink.

For Kazakh food, song, and dance all in one, this restaurant is THE place to go. They have menus in English and have a wide assortment of dishes to choose from, both Kazakh and international cuisine. The night that I went, there was a show which included Kazakh songs played with traditional instruments, and beautiful dancers gracing the stage. The songs started out very traditional with their costumes and styles, but as the night progressed, electric guitars suddenly became part of the whole Kazakh scene, and the girls were doing belly dances! Get your Tenge out and ready!
Most of the people in this place were Kazakh, and there were few Russians. Unfortunately, I couldn't take any pictures. My mistake was asking if it was OK to take pictures :P
The show starts at 8pm, at least on Thursday nights!
Favorite Dish: I had the Kara-Kyzyl Salad (Black-Red or simply, Olives & Tomotoes Salad), Camel Besbarmak (Camel Meat with flat, square-shaped noodles called Naryn), and Pakhlava for dessert. Incidentally, that was the first time I had camel meat, and it tasted like pork. Or maybe I pointed to the wrong thing... They had English menus though!

Looking for some shashlyk? Try Inara for a good mix of food and atmosphere! This restaurant doesn't look like it from the outside, but there's a whole wide and open space inside full of trees and a small waterfall people can enjoy their meal in a really relaxed atmosphere. The shashlyk was great!
