The Ala-Too mountain range, 40 km away,
provides a spectacular backdrop to the city;
in it, the Ala Archa National Park is a site worth visiting

Honor to the Kyrgyz Flag

Looking the opposite way in the central plaza from the government office buildings you see the Monument of Honor to the Kyrgyz Flag and behind that the State Museum

Central Plaza

The "theroritical" center of the city is the large plazza surrounded by governemnt buildings and moniumnets to significant events in its history and those that celebrate its origins and people.

only a very short ride from Bishkek...

Even at the occasion of a very short stay in Bishkek you should not miss a trip to the nearby mountains, it is really nice.

As in any Asian country, you just have to visit the local market with its bright colors, fresh fruits, loud voices and bustling life everywhere. Do not forget to bargain!
