Horse riding in the Barskoon grasses

Starting to agree with my hubbie that horses should be eaten and not ridden. Good things and bad things:
Good thing: riding through the purple and gold pastures
Good thing: being taller than the grasses
Good thing: My children enjoying the horse ride despite being anxious at first
Good thing: ride only lasted 2 hours
Good thing: feeling of stiffness in my legs afterwards (yes this is a good thing - I was missing my exercise very much)
Good thing: being invited into the home of the horse owners for tea afterwards
Bad thing: losing my composure and my hat in a wild gallop across the pasture - a gallop I had not control over (horses on their way home!)
Bad thing: horse deciding it wanted to climb up a steep bank and then did not want to come back down
Bad thing: Horses speak Russian or Kyrgyz. Tsk Tsk Tsk as I was taught in my horseriding lessons is NOT the same in Russian. "Chew" is the word to say to get the horse to move.
