Tamchy Things to Do
I can't really think of anything else to do in Tamchy other than veg out at the beach. Lake Issyk-kul is swimmable - surprising given its altitude. Many Russians from Kazakhstan come here on vacation. It's a quieter beach than nearby Cholpon-Ata. However, those expecting a pristine stretch of sand will be disappointed - it's swampy around the beach and the sand itself is kind of pebbly. Locals like it because it's all they've got. Most of us have seen much better.
Yasmina has to be one if the best value places I've ever been.
Located on the Main Street heading down to the beach on the left, it's the little bamboo shack with Chinese writing.
It's a predominantly Chinese menu.
We had just a main and a salad to share and just as well as it was massive. We had ram noodles. It tasted amazing although a little overrun with garlic. The service was very good and friendly. We had bread and tea with it and all for £4(330som) which included a 10% service charge. A great find.
