bars and terraces: not much of a night life
Hmmmm... there aren't really many things one can do in Thakhek when night falls. You can sit in some of the bars and mini restaurants or buy yourself something to drink and bring it to your room. Or you can sit at some of the more frequented (by foreign tourists) restaurants with terrace and enjoy view over Mekong to Thailand. There're one or two boat restaurants which I didn't find very inviting or atmospheric but maybe it was wrong time of a year. Well, maybe you'll prefer to go to sleep early in Thakhek. What man needs to feel chic.
