Khopchaideu restaurant: Close to resort.
The problem with Pakbeng was without electricity it was very difficult to move very far from the bungalows. So it was easy to just walk across the road. The resto is the same owner as the Riverside lodge opposite and as such we were very welcome. A small glass of Laolao was offered......pheeewwww. A chicken masala went down well followed by a BeerLao and a coffee. Some naan bread between us and the result was around 40.000 LAK each (3€65). Lights came back on after 21h00 but after downing another beer couldn't be bothered to have a walk.
Nan Pinh Restaurant: Pakbeng, dinner with drinks
The simple menus were all between 8000 and 15000 Kip.
I don't remember what exactly we ate but it was good, more than enough and the service was friendly.
Our first LaoBeer tasted quite nice and was followed by some more.
