by snuggie

It's up to you if you believe.According to some travel guide fengshui tips,if your destination is to win at casino, avoid the shuttle bus provide by the casino and instead, take a bus or taxi. But no doubt, the shuttle bus is a great convenience in getting around the casino in Macau.

Macau is a great place for those who like to walk

by ByWayOfAlbuquerque

It was fun to just walk around Macau. Along the waterfront from the ferry terminal to the MGM hotel, then through the main tourist section up to the fantastic historical museum, Macau is a great place for a stroll.

Smoke gets in my eyes

by yann.ng

The friendliness of the people and the ease and frequency of their public transport. The prices of similar products is relatively cheaper in Macau than Hong Kong. The whole atmosphere of old meets new and east meets west in Macau is very attractive. The ability to walk from one place to another with so much to see in Macau city is very interesting, however always remember to wear a good pair of walking shoes. However during my visit, the place is always foggy and my friends and i was joking that the song "Smoke gets in my eyes" is repeatedly played in our head. Not a very good experience for people who have sensitive eyes or dry eyes.

Most Useful Map of Macau

by chatterley

We've got quite a few different maps for Macau, e.g. the Macau Tourist Map, Macau City Map etc. The best (in our opinion) is the "Macau Shopping Discovery Map" (I think we obtained a copy of it from our hotel lobby). The map's best feature is that it indicates all the bus-stops in Macau (plus the bus service numbers), and it really makes it easy for tourists like us who travel by bus. It also includes hotel information, brand shop information, shopping map, Macau World Heritage sites etc.

Best Portuguese Egg Tarts

by cmak

Do try the Portuguese egg tarts from the "Kun Kee" bakeries, 6HKD each (approx. 45p). Although I have been informed that Portuguese do not actually bake or eat these in Portugal. but these taste so heavenlly, you must get one when you see them.Crispiest tart base, sweet and smooth egg custard fillings that smells gorgeous!

Pataca - the currency of Macao

by tremendopunto

You cn convineintly pay with HKD in Macao. But be aware that the return money will be in Patacas. So unless you pla to do big shopping in Macao, dont pay in too big HKD bills to avoid any reconverting.

All In The Famliy

by RoyJava

My brother is treated like one of the family in Macau, knows his way like his pocket and loves to show special and hot items in Macau. Always on the way he became an expert for visitors to show Macau, even he doesnot like it at all. Though when once on his way showing the best part of Macau ... just follow him! Working in the nigth-cabaret of the Lisboa Casino as choreographer he does know the best spots, where is the finest food and what are the greatest trends ... and always surrounded by beautiful ladies (the Lisboa Dancing Girls) he makes you following, it is! Well, what guide can be more desirable ???

Casinos

by Audrey118

There are many many casinos in Macau. The famous one being Sands - built by Las Vegas Sands, and it is really huge there - multi levels of gambling. To enter Sands you will be subjected to going through x rays, and no large bags allowed. There are buses to Sands, all complimentary. These buses can be seen at The TurboJet station - you have to ask people where the bus to Sands - known in Chinese as Kam Sar - which means golden sands!!!We had an enjoyable buffet at the restaurant - cost us 214HKD each. Another popular casino is Lisbon - in Chinese they call it Poh King - it was one of the first to be built - ornate - full of gold and also tons of mosaic art!!! This place however is smaller - looks like Shanghai days!!! and smokey. At there are several eateries just outside the exit of the casinos...in the wee wee hours, there are lots of young Chinese social escorts to be seen talking...

Walks - Tourst Office

by Audrey118

At the famous Senado Square, there is the Tourist Office. You can get lots of maps from them, but I also recommend asking for a map with walks. Everyone tell me that I could see Macau in a day or so, but there were some 4-5 walks that took me about 2 hours each. I did one or 2 walks a day, and did not see 100 pct of Macau in my 5 days stay. Nevertheless I did see as much as I could and thoroughly enjoyed the walks. So armed with the walks pamphlet, and also a booklet from the hotel, I enjoyed myself to the T. All the walks have description of what to see, and when to stop for a drink etc. It was like what I could print out from the Frommer's Walking Tour website...which I found none for Macau :(One walk took me to the Guia Hill and the surrounding., and then we took the cable car down, and visited the Sun Yat Sen Memorial house, and to another beautiful park. It was simply amazing how...
