Wing Lai Yuen Restaurant: Chinese Food

by chatterley

We ordered rice, stir-fried beef with ginger and spring onions, stir-fried long beans, tofu and vegetable soup. The food was not bad (hubby liked the beans!) and prices were reasonable, the bill came up to less than 200 MOP.

Margaret's Cafe e Nata: World-famous egg custard tart

by islaazul

A cute cafe tucked away in a side street. It serves coffee, sandwiches, and above all the world-famous Portugese egg custard tarts. According to locals, this is the place to go for these yummy tarts. Portugese egg tarts! Delicious egg custard in a flaky, melt-in-your-mouth crust. The top of the egg custard is slightly burned and carmelized. To die for.

Pick up some freshly baked Portuguese egg tarts from one of the Lord Stow's bakeries which are dotted around Coloane Village & enjoy the steaming hot pastry as you walk by the seaside. Freshly baked Portuguese egg tarts coz it's the best you can find.

Venetian Food Court

by limledi

Venetian Macau Resort Hotel offers a wide selection of sumptuous dishes in their food court. The price as expected in this high-end hotel is expensive. There are numerous stalls to choose from offering Chinese, Japanese, Italian & other cuisines. Tempura. I just love Japanese food pure & simple.

Wong Chi Kei: Fried Dumplings

by i-s-a

Located at the busy Senado Square. The place is full of local customers which is a good sign of great food and service I guess. It has English menu but the staff do not understand English at all. We got through ordering and paying via sign language and lots of smiles. (prices circa 2005):slice of beef in noodle soup - 18MOPgrilled porkchop rice - 24MOPdeep fried shrimp dumplings - 32MOPnote: Practice your chopstick skills! They don't have spoon and fork for guests and was very amused when we requested for one. Ended up with a teaspoon and lots of stare from guests and staff ;0) Delicious fried dumplings and noodles

Platao: Varied menu

by Loops

This is one of the few restaurants we came across with Al Fresco dining. It had a friendly atmosphere and seemed to be popular with local people which is always a good sign. Dishes on the menu included bacalhau, baked duck rice, Portugese style fried rice, fish, curries, loads to choose from.

Le Bistrot: Lovely Meal

by Loops

Excellent French restaurant in Taipa. A great place to go for a cozy evening meal. We were a party of six and must have sampled at least half the menu (we knew we were doing well when they brought out glasses of port 'on the house'!)Everything we had was lovely - the meat was tender, the fish perfect, the desserts mouthwatering. A beautiful meal, friendly staff, delicious wines and a relaxed atmosphere.
