La Bonne Heure: France, in Portugal, in Macau

by Loops

Small French restaurant tucked away down Travessa de Sao Domingos (just off Largo do Senado). The staff were friendly, the food was great and the atmosphere just about right. We were a group of five and everybody enjoyed their food. The price was reasonable too (at least, coming from Singapore we found the price of the drinks to be especially good value!) I had the smoked salmon carpaccio, followed by the roasted pork tenderloin. For dessert we shared a creme brulee and strawberry souflee.Everything was delicious!

Cafe Tai Lei Loi Kei: Deep fried pork bun (Only 300 per day)

by yann.ng

The chinese name of the cafe is ´óÁ¦À´¼ÇWe arrived at the cafe at 3pm that day and thought we were right on time. Unfortunately, we were greeted with a closed cafe with a sign saying that the cafe is close for a day!!Therefore my friends and I did not get the chance to try this famous deep fried pork bun (Öí°Ç°ü).My friend who told me about the place saw travel programmes featuring the cafe, said that the meat pounder is imported from Italy 3-4 times each year. Therefore we believe the pork should be very tender!Next time, I go Macau, i definitely hope to try it.I heard that the bun are serve at 3pm daily and the owner only makes 300 buns each day. So it's on first come first serve basis. Each bun costs MOP10.

Lord Stow's Bakery: Creator of Portuguese Egg Tart

by yann.ng

According to a cabbie who drove us there, Lord Stow's is the creator of Portuguese Egg Tart in Macau and is the nicest. He also mentioned that the ex-wife of the owner, Andrew, set up her own portuguese egg tart brand after divorcing him. However he did not mention the name of the ex-wife's bakery. :) My friends and I also tried the (îÒ¼Ç)Koi Kei's portuguese egg tarts easily found in Macau City, but we felt that the Lord Stow's is better as you can really taste the eggs. The egg tarts are going for MOP4 each (same price as Koi Kei's). Portuguese Egg Tarts

Loja Sopa De Fita Cheong Kei: Famous dried shrimp paste noodles

by yann.ng

A plain looking cafe-style noodle place with unexpectedly nice noodles. We had a crate of pork-legs on the floor within a meter from other table. Another specialty of the eatery is their pork legs which my friends and i did not try.The noodle was very springy and the skin for the dumplings is different from those i've eaten else where. The cooking time was ideal, therefore the noodles and dumpling skin remain springy instead of soggy. Do remember to add the chilli paste that's found at each table to better enhance the taste of the noodles and dumplings. This place has been recommended by many food critics and appeared on a couple of food magazines or TV programmes before.Note: The dried shrimp paste noodles comes in a very small serving and it costs MOP18 per servings. The chinese name of the eatery is Ïé¼ÇÃæ¼ÒAddress in chinese: ¸£Â¡Ð½Ö68ºÅ - Dried Shrimp paste Noodles (Ϻ×ÑÃæ)-...

Enjoy Portuguese Menus mix with local taste!

by dewo25

The restaurant located in Coloane island, the smallest island in Macau. It situated in front of european typical street that still use brick for the road. One of my favorite menu is fish (long fish) fried with orange and mix with some kind of salad sauce. The taste is damn good!!! got to try this at home!

Porto Ecterior: Porto Ecterior

by Carino

Porto Ecterior is a local restaurant, a bit hidden from the main road. It seems quite popular amongst the locals and the food was also good. I had Baked Rice with Duck which was very delicious.

Pork Chop buns

by chatterley

Macau is famous for its egg tarts and pork chop buns. We've eaten quite a number of the buns, and most of the eateries do it quite well. Our only regret is that we did not get to try the pork chop buns sold by the "original pork chop bun shop" - Da Li Lai (hanyu pinyin name) in Taipa. This shop's buns were highly recommended by a foodie guide book.

Lemon Cello Gelato: Gelato

by chatterley

The gelato is home-made, and you can choose from many flavours. I ordered the lemon flavour while hubby had the peach-&-mango flavour. Each single flavour gelato costs 15 MOP. The gelato's yummy and it's nice to eat something cold after walking under the sun.
