by imstress

New Era is located within walking distance from Hotel Grandeur. We ordered river crab in steamed eggs (HK48), steamed seafood rice in bamboo (HK58), mei cai kou rou (HK42) claypot of chicken broth sharksfin soup (HK 198).I hesitated if I should share that we ordered a claypot of chicken broth sharksfin soup as the sharks protectionist will sure to make some noise ;p But we could not give this dish a miss while we were in Hong Kong, Macau and Thailand.

Sharksfin Shop: Dried Sharksfin and abalone

by imstress

The Chinese are the biggest eater of sharksfins and this delicacy is served in most wedding dinners. This is the first time I came across a sharksfin shop that is selling the raw product. Workers can be seen cleaning up the sharksfin. The sharksfin cost from MOP780 per 600g.The shop is located at a lane at Rua dos Mercadores where we were searching for Cafe Kum Ma Lon. You will find it just behind St. Dominic Church.

Cafe Kum Ma Lon (Golden Cameron): Kum Ma Lon Cha Chang Teng

by imstress

Kum Ma Lon (Golden Cameron) is a typical "Cha Chang Teng" you would find in Macau. Cha Cheng Teng are typically a very small shop where you have a quick meal to satisfy your hunger. There is no fancy decor and the seats are narrow. But one comforting point is that the food spread is good and delicious.Kum Ma Lon is situated behind the St Dominic's Church and next to 7-Eleven store. Ask for directions if you are lost. We ordered all their popular dishes like Pork Chop Bun (MOP10), Wanton Noodle Soup (MOP16), Salt Pepper Chilli Pork chop rice (MOP23) and another extra servings of Salt Pepper Chilli Pork Chop (MOP30) for everyone to share as it was simply delicious. We took away some egg tarts at MOP3 for each pieces. Ask for the English Menu if you have problem ordering what you want or point to what people are eating. The staff are very patient and poliet.
