Senado square is not only for exhibits & a meeting place.It is also considered as the heart of shopping area in Macau.
It has a lot of designer shops like Bossini, U2, Samsonite etc.Restaurants, food chain, coffee shops, grocery stores, pharmacy, Souvenir shops are msotly located in this area. Theme: Other

Joy & Peace is a popular brand for shoes in Hong Kong. This is also one store that I always visit whenever I am in Hong Kong. Much to my delight, Joy & Peace has branches in Macau too. Hence, it is no surprise that I took the opportunity to visit this store and got myself a pair of shoes during my stay in Macau.
Joy & Peace has a comprehensive range of shoes for ladies and gentlemen for all occasion. This is one place you must visit if you want to get quality shoes with unique design at affordable prices. The design is unique and follows closely European trends.
Unlike other stores, Joy & Peace (Macau) takes the initiative to do the conversion if you wish to pay in HKD in its Macau's store. Do remember that HKD1 = MOP1.03. Other stores would just charge the same amount even you pay HDK.
I strongly recommend this store for shoe lovers!

If you feeling loss at what souvenirs to get for your family and friends, do consider buying the locally made food products. The well-known Macauese almond cookies is available everywhere and the most popular place to get them is at Rua S Paulo, which is the lane that leads to the St Paul's Ruins. Here, all the vendors would peddle their products and you can try the samples before you make your decision.
One such shop which I would like to recommend is "Pastelaria Koi Kei", located along this lane. This shop is often visited by locals and tourists. The cookies are freshly baked and come in various flavours. The cookies are also packed in beautiful boxes for gift presentation. Do look out for this shop when you are in the vicinity of St Paul's Ruins. It has branches in other parts of Macau.
Besides the famous almond cookies, "Pastelaria Koi Kei" is known for peanut candy. There are also other local food items you may consider purchasing.

The Senado Square is Macau's main meeting hub for recreational activities. The square is laid with a wave-patterned stone mosaic - especially created by specialists from Portugal. The stone pavement extend from Senado Square to St Paul's ruins. All major events and activities are held at the square.
The Senado Square contains beautiful trees and plants, cafes, spaces for meetings / activities, an elegant fountain, and most importantly, all major shops are also located at the square. If you are not able to visit Hong Kong, just head for Senado Square as many major HK brands are found there. These include Watson, G2000, U2, Bossini, Giodano, Mirabell, Joy & Peace, Le Sauda and Sasa.
Interestingly, many historic sites are located around this square, for example, the Holy House of Mercy, St Dominic's Church and the iconic St Paul's ruins. There are a lot of small bakeries around the islands in Macau and Taipa.
Taipa Village got a Food Street, bakeries making goodies, peanut candy are famous, they will be preparing in front of you.
Bonus is they will let you take some bite, (or a lot...) so you know what flavor you like, to purchase..
This Pastelaria got one branch in Taipa (Rua Do Cunha) and 5 more in central Macau..
Peanut Candy, different variety buy a lot, it really taste yummy and chewy.. Its also a nice souvenir to friends as its only made in Macau, and its not that expensive, One small pack (vacuum sealed) is 15 patacas and regular packs is 25 patacas.
On the same stores, they would be selling some dried meats, a lot of Chinese tourists and foreigners buy it, but I didnt as Im not too fond of dried meats.. But customers swears it really taste good..

The New Yaohan is undisputedly the biggest departmental store in Macau. Offering four storeys of retail entertainment, the target shoppers are mainly tourists from the Mainland China. Items sold are wide-ranging from household wares, apparels to fresh food items.
One of the greatest draw to the New Yaohan is the great selection of imported cosmetics. Famous brands like Bioterm, SKII and Clinique, are housed under this store. Also, the foodcourt on the 4th storey offers great local food at an affordable price.

This is a little shop full of antiques and replicas. What makes this place special is the nice lady at the counter. She's very friendly and makes the visitors feel welcome. She lets you hold and admire the wares without giving you the look (yes...some shop owners do!).
We bought here a beautiful hand-painted black lacquered jewelry box and a domino playset in a colorful replica box.
I would have loved to bring home the beautiful wedding armoire and rocking chair if I could hehehe.
