Senado Square is a rendezvous or a meeting place both for locals and tourists because of its strategic location. The floor is made up of black and white cobble stone pattterns that make it so unique and chique! The buildings around it are so attractive not only because of its intricate designs but moreso because of the unique European (Portuguese) bright colors especially at night. The place is still popular venue for special events, expositions, trade and shows. Shops, restaurants and cafes are within the area. This serves as the central place for Macau as it is adjacent to major tourist spots and historical places.

The famous landmark of Macau which was built centuries ago is the Ruin's Of St. Paul. Considered as the greatest of all churches in Macau with regards to history and design. It was destroyed by fire during 18th century leaving the facade behind. You can find statues of the Saints, angels, devil, cruxificion, ships and the Holy Trinity at the tiers. Upto this day, the magnificent facade of the Church draws many tourist from all over the world. Within the complex, you can find the Sacred Art Museum and the Crypt. Located just behind the Ruin's. Directions: From Senado square, straight ahead til you reach St. Dominic Church and from there, few steps til you reach body shop, turn left and there u can see the Ruin's.Website: www.macautourism.gov.mo

Guia Fortress was built in 1637, the highest point in Macau. It was designed to defend Macau from attacks from the sea, but because of its position overlooking the entire city, it was turned to be an observation post. You can find a chapel within the area dedicated to Our Lady Of Guia. Today, the most prominent feature in the hill is the lighthouse which was built during 18th century..the oldest in the China coast. Great View from the top but a little bit tiring going up and down the hill.

Standing in Lotus Square is a large sculpture of a Lotus Flower, which was presented by the State Council of China in 1999, marking the return of sovereignty of Macau. The stulpture is about 6m high, made of Gilded Bronze and is about 6.5 tons. The lotus flower in full bloom symbolizes everlasting prosperity of Macau. I would recomment seeing this, as it does not take up much time and its very nice to look at. Leave a Comment

This must surely be one of the top attractions in Macau, the Macau Tower. On our short trip to Macau we paid its a visited and we were not disappointed at all. Soaring 338 meters above the city is the 10th tallest freestanding tower in the world and the 8th tallest in Asia. Dominating the skyline and offering breathtaking views over the city, China, Pearl River, and on a clear day even some of the outlying islands of Hong Kong. When up on the viewing platform one of the cool things about the tower is that glass panels on the floor that shows the the sheer height of the tower. Its quite funny seeing people's reactions as they walk towards the window of the tower and when they realise that parts of the floor they are standing on is glass, but I am confident that its pretty safe and that the glass is very thick. (Apologies for pictures quality it was a very miserable day) Leave a Comment Address: Largo da Torre de MacauPhone: (853) 933 339Directions: Bus 23 goes straight to the Tower. We got it from the outside of the Grand Prix Museum, but it stops at various other locations too.Website: http://www.macautower.com.mo

A newly opened Macau Tower (2001) is considered as the 10th highest tower in the world. Standing at 338m, it gives you a bird's eyeview of Macau and its outlaying islands. It has convention center, cinema and their well known revolving restaurant. Just a reminder, some area are made up of glass floors. It can be a bit geeky but its fun seeing whats down under :-) Admission is MOP70 per adult. 233 metres above the ground with no handrail, you are exposed to all elements of the mother nature on the outer rim of the Macau Tower. Not only that, the walkway is only 1.8m wide. Welcome to Skywalk X! Created by AJ Hackett -- a name you may associate with bungy jumping - Skywalk X definitely sends your adrenaline pumping! I would strongly urge everyone who visits the Macau Tower to try doing the Skywalk X. Opening hours for the High Camp at Level 61 (Open Deck Observation) is 11am to 8pm on Mondays - Fridays and 10am to 8pm on Saturdays/Sundays/Public Holidays. There are various packages available for the adventures. Basic cost of trying out the Skywalk X, including a certificate and a membership card, is MOP198. There was a 20% discount for guests using VISA for payment for a limited (during my visit) period. Try to be early too. We were the first ones to be there and a dedicated guide brought us out to do the walk. With a group of 3, there were more attention and fun. Our guide, Ah Meng, was able to share with us more about Macau's attractions and of course, we had great time taking photographs of us doing different stunts. The package for a photograph and CD is MOP120. You can get the Skywalk X T-shirt at MOP60. The T-shirt is only available to those who have done the walk. Read more about my experience doing Skywalk X here.
