free hotel bus service!

by malakingtete

if you want to go around macau on a budget, you can simply do that by using the bus services provided by the hotels to their guests. on our 5 days stay at macau, we have travelled to and from taipa-macau island without paying any fares! actually, me & my husband are wondering how this hotels can afford to provide free bus rides to even non guests of the hotels... hope they're still earning... ha ha ha

From Hongkong to Macau

by yellowbell

Macau is just two-hour ferry ride away from Hongkong and there's no visa required to enter Macau. If you're staying in Kowloon Island, take MTR to Tsim Tsa Tsui, walk towards Kowloon Park, turn right when you see Marco Polo Gateway. The next building to Marco Polo Gateway is the China Ferry Terminal. Second floor is a mall so go up to 3rd Floor. You have a choice on whether to take First Ferry or Turbo jet. Please come 30 mins before embarkation so you can ride the ferry on time. Otherwise, you will have to catch the next one. Sailing schedule is every 30 mins.If you're in HK Airport, you can go straight to Macau using this http://www.turbojetseaexpress.com.hk/e/default.asp?vname=default. With this website, you don't need to go through HK Immigration.

Venetian Gondola

by limledi

No trip to Venice or The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel would be complete without a graceful and romantic glide down one of the three canals in an authentic Venetian gondola, accompanied by a singing gondolier. Tickets are available at Boutique di Gondola (Shop 2301) and Emporio di Gondola (Shop 2660).

Flora Garden & Cable Car

by limledi

The European-style Flora Garden, situated at the base of Guia Hill parallel to the Avenida Sidonio Pais. It was formerly the grounds of the Flora Palace, an aristocratic Portuguese mansion. The stone gateway at the entrance was once the palace guardhouse. An easier route to the top of Guia Hill is via the cable car near the park gate. Visitors can gain a bird's-eye view of the garden and a panoramic perspective of the city for 3 patacas one way, or 5 patacas return.

turbojet ferry from HKIA to Macau

by seagypsy

You won't need to go into Hong Kong for the Turboject ferry to Macau. There's a direct ferry from HKIA BUT upon your flight arrival you MUST NOT GO THROUGH IMMIGRATION! Instead, you need to follow airport signage for the ferries and you'll need to buy your ticket or BUT IT ONLINE via their website. Your suitcase/s or luggage will be transfered by airport personnel to the ferry and they will not allow you to board the turbojet ferry until there's confirmation that your luggage has been transfered. Going around Macau on a budget

by mylene02

We had a nice time going around Macau on a budget. We took an early ferry from Hong Kong to Macau. Upon reaching the Macau ferry terminal, we got the FREE shuttle to Venezia Hotel in Taipa. This hotel is a must for tourists. So we went around the hotel shops and took lots of pictures in this beautiful theme hotel. If you have time, find your way to the outer part of the hotel for an outdoor photo op of Venezia. We had lunch there at the food court, yummy choices. A little expensive compared to the restaurants outside the hotel, but they you are paying for the ambience. Its ok to shell out some cash, we saved on transpo anyway. After lunch we went back to the free shuttle service of the hotel to bring us back to the ferry terminal. Again, from the ferry terminal we looked for the free shuttle of Lisboa Hotel. Upon reaching the hotel, we found our way going to the main entrance and found...

Turbojet Ferry, Hong Kong - Macau

by bpwarne

With daily departures from the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal (Shenung Wan) every 15 minutes (or more often during peak hours as warranted) between the hours of 7AM - Midnight, these boats are fast, easy, reliable transportation between Hong kong and Macau. I dont know the age of these boats but they appear fairly new and modern. Fare is $134HKD (approx $17USD) one way. Comfortable assigned seating. Actual travel time is 1 hour. Allow at least another 30 minutes for boarding, disembarking, and customs upon arrival.Departures to Macau also available from Hong Kong International Airport, although not nearly as frequent.Service also available to Shenzhen Airport from both Macau and Hong Kong International Airport.

Macau city to airport

by hooiluangoh

The cheapest way to get from the airport to town is on the public bus. It costs 3.30 MOP. 1 HKD is about 1.03 MOP.The second option is taxi. When you land in Macau via Air Asia (www.airasia.com), you may want to get to your hotel quickly in which case a taxi makes sense. It costs at least 50 MOP. I paid about 80 MOP to get to a hotel near the border with China. The third option is to use the free casino shuttle. There are lots and lots of caniso shuttles eager to pick up their guests. That is, provided u are staying at the casino hotels, otherwise it may not worth the energy to catch the shuttle, then having to walk again once you arrive to your hotel.

Taxis and Luggage

by Loops

When arriving in Macau, at least from the airport, there is some kind of charge that you have to pay on top of the meter fare. We weren't sure if it was a luggage fee (charge per piece) or a fee for using the bridge from Taipa to the big island. Unfortunately we didn't understand the cab driver and he didn't understand us, so we're still not sure what the extra was for, but I guess it could have been for both luggage and the bridge!
