Taxis

by Loops

Normal taxis will only take 4 people, or 5 at a push, but there are some larger cabs that you can book which will take 6 comfortably so it is worth doing instead of getting two cabs - the price was the same. We asked at the reception of our hotel and they booked it for us.

Flying to Macau from Singapore

by yann.ng

I flew by budget airline Tiger Airways to Macau on a 6am flight from Singapore Budget Terminal. Currently there are only 2 flights by Tiger Airways to Macau from Singapore. Usually, the earlier you book, the cheaper the fare. I paid around $150 (inclusive of all taxes) for an one-way flight.Starting 2 Feb 2008, Jetstar Asia will be flying to Macau from Singapore direct.Upon arrival at the Macau Airport, you can take bus AP1 to the Taipa City or Macau City for only MOP3.30

Cheap way to get around Macau

by yann.ng

There is an extensive network of bus services available in Macau. The buses link both the Macau Island and the Taipa/ Coloane Island. Check out the bus services and their route at the bus stop. The bus fares are generally MOP3-5 per person per trip.Initially my friends and I were a little confused by the bus directory found at the bus stop. However, we quickly figured that a sticker will be stuck beside the description of your current stop and you just have to take note of the direction of the arrow beside the listings of stops to make sure that your destination is a following stop instead of some previous stop along the bus route. Rule of thumb, always check with the bus driver if you are unsure. Most of the bus-drivers speaks Cantonese. Most of the buses I took have LED display indicating the name of the next stop (sometimes some electronic news or advertisement) and there's a recorded...

Shuttle Services from Casino/Hotel

by Nissanmit

Most major casinos and hotels provide free shuttle services to/fro the HK or China ferry terminal. Warning- New Lisboa only provides a free shuttle from the terminals to their casino/hotel. It dosen't provide to the terminals unless you gamble at their casino! I don't understand why they have to be so stingy about it. Probably due to its proximity to the city square. Many people just walk over for a free ride. Anyway, no fear. Walk over next door to Wynn. They are not so calculative.

Ferry from Hong Kong (Kowloon)

by Carino

Catch the New World First Ferry from Kowloon to Macau for HKD 172. The trip takes roughly an hour and ferries are leaving from China Ferry Terminal on Canton Road. There are also Ferries from Victoria Harbour to Macao with Turbo Jet.

Taxi

by Carino

Like many other travellers I also had my share of bad taxi experience in Asia. Not so in Macau. The drivers always used the meter and made sure that they understood your destination. Some information about the surcharges:Each item of luggage carried in the trunk: MOP 3Each 50 seconds the taxi waits at passenger's request: MOP 1Journeys starting at the airport: MOP 5Journeys between Taipa and Coloane Islands: MOP 2Journeys between Macau and Coloane Island: MOP 5Taxis can be flagged down on the street or you can wait at one of the many taxi stands.

Tiger Airways

by Carino

Singapore based Low Cost Carrier Tiger Airways has 1 to 2 daily flights to Macau. A little warning: As for every budget airline, don't expect much of a service. The trolley dollys even started to complain when you consume outside food or drinks. Also our flight was delayed on both ways.

Ferry To Hongkong from Macau

by DanCerdena

Doing a side trip to Hongkong can be a breeze via First Ferry to Kowloon Island, Hongkong. Be sure to take First Ferry as Turbo Jet may land you in Hongkong Island. Trip cost about HKD 135 per way. Traveling on a weekend may be a hassle due to the hordes of tourist especially on the way back from Hongkong. Allow plenty of time before departure to get into the terminal. Better yet, you may buy a round trip ticket to save you the queue in Hongkong.

Tiger Airways

by Cielo_Algaeed

A new budget airline that flies to and from Macau is Tiger Airways. A singapore based Airline that caters to travellers who are on fix budget :-)Their aircraft is relatively new. Nice interior, more spacious seating capacity and not so ear bugging engine. They offer special fare from time to time. So, better check their website once in awhile to get a special deal within Asia.
