Bus

by Cielo_Algaeed

One of the means of transportation here in Macau is taking the bus. A fix rate of 2.30MOP within the island of Macau while 3.50MOP for Taipa and Coloane.Make sure to have exact amount when taking the bus coz they dont give change. It was a bit hard for us to move around with this mode of transpo because we didnt know where was the next bus stop...Its hard to ask the locals because most of them do not speak english.

Feel like a local, take the bus

It's actually easy to navigate Macau. You just need to have a map. The good thing about their free maps is that they come along with bus routes. You just have to go to a bus stop and wait for the bus number that traverses your desired location. All bus stops have signages on what bus stops there. All major tourist attractions can be accessed by bus.

Macau, Hongkong... Hongkong, Macau

by myspices

To and fro Macau/Hongkong, the best way is by ferry/jetfoils which is an hour journey. Frequency of the ferry is about 15minutes to 30minutes. The ferry service is run on 24hours and the fares for weekdays, weekends, public holidays , day and night ride is different. The one that we took from Kowloon to Macau is run by the First Ferry Macau. We got onto the boat at 5.30pm from China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon and the fare is HK $152 (inclusive of tax) per pax. Seats are clean and the journey was a smooth one. China Ferry Terminal is at Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, HK. You can get a Ferry Service Timetable at both the Macau jetfoil pier and China Ferry Terminal. If you are in Hongkong Island, then you can board the ferry at the pier next to Shun Tak Centre, 200 Connaught Rd, Sheung Wan, Hongkong Island. (You can use the Hongkong MTR subway and stop at the station at...

Around Macau, Taipa and Coloane

by myspices

Bus services in Macau and the islands are available and a convenient way of moving about. To know which bus goes where, you can find details all written on the map obtained from the Tourist Information Centre or you can look for the destinations and stops at the panels at each bus stop.Between Macau and Taipa, you can board bus Nos. 11, 22, 28A, 33 and 34. Buses 15, 21, 21A, 25, 26 and 26A connect Macau, Taipa and Coloane. Within peninsula Macau, only one standard bus fare ie MOP2.50, regardless of distance and destination. Travelling to Taipa and Macau International Airport (AP1 bus), the bus fare is MOP3.30 and if the destination is to Coloane Village, fare is MOP4.00.Remember to have exact change as there is no changes given back .You can either pay in MOP or the HK$Taxis will be a faster way but more expensive. Flag-down is MOP10.00 .

Airasia - Now EveryOne Can Fly...

by myspices

Airasia has a catchy slogan of "Now Everyone can Fly".... It's true.. it's so economical to just catch an Airasis flight from Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) to Macau. The LCC Terminal is located about 20km away from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Lots of signboards pointing you the way to LCC. If you do not wish to drive to LCC terminal, you can catch the shuttle sky bus from KL Sentral Station in Kuala Lumpur . The skybus schedule runs as early as 3.30am from KL Sentral to LCCT and from LCCT to KL Sentral the 1st bus departs at 7.15am. Fare is Myr9/- per pax one way. Travel time between KL Sentral and LCCT is about 1 hours 15mins. Frequency of the bus is about 15mins to 30mins.Airasia, no frills budget airline, is one of the best ways to travel - only if you don't mind the slightly narrow seats and no onboard services provided.

AP1 - Airport to Central Macau

by myspices

To get to Central Macau ( we were going to Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro), you can get on board the AP1 bus. You can catch this bus right in front of the Airport entrance (after immigration, walk out of the airport main entrance, turn left and you will see there's a bus stop). Cost is MOP3.30. You will need to pay exact monies as you will not be able to get back any change (you insert your monies into a machine). If you do not have patacas (MOP), the Portuguese currency, you can also use HKdollars. Ride is about 40minutes.Buses are quite frequent - about 15minutes interval.

Macau from/to Hong Kong by sea

by idy

Visitors to Hong Kong often take a day or two to drop by Macau. This is a easy, comfortable and convenient journey by ferry which lasts approximately 70 minutes. Food and drinks can be purchased on board, and the bathrooms are clean and modern. Travellers have to pass through customs to visit Macau, so don't forget your passport!Tickets can be purchased on the day itself at the location from which the boat sails. There are two operators, TurboJET, which operates a fleet of jetfoils, or First Ferry, which sail catamarans.TurboJET plys between the Hong Kong Ferry Terminal at the Shun Tak Centre at Sheung Wan and the Macau Ferry Terminal located in the Outer Harbour. The jetfoil leaves every 10 to 15 minutes starting from 7am to 6pm. A weekday economy class ticket cost HK$141 to Macau and HK$142 from Macau to HK Island. Tickets cost more on weekends. Visit www.turbojet.com.hk for more...

Take the bus what hold tight!

by tezafeliza

EVERYTHING in Macau can be toured by simply taking the public bus. I had my hotel break down my money to loose change since buses require the exact fare - typically 2.50 patacas. Get a bus ride guide so you'll have an idea of all the stops , usually given away in hotels. There is a bus stop in every tourist spot, temple, casino, etc so you will really find your way around.
