    Watch The Dirty Ocean

It is not a daily occurence, though you might see on TV the warning "Watch the ocean!". In fact this warning concerns sharks which do swimm around. These tricky folks indeed do appear in these ocean areas and, always boastful city-guys wanna go for swim there, too, so it may happen ... ... ...

The fact is that the entire ocean around Macau looks dirty! It is beacuse of the yellow Pearl River flowing into the ocean, bringing the yellow-coloured mud from inland areas. So you cannot see one inch in the water. Note down the fact that the bottom of the ocean is slippery, slimy and greeny, no need to warn you for this ocean. Going to CHEOC VAN Beach (Bamboo Bay) please do take care!

Sorry for not be able to read the beach-signs... those were in Macau/Chinese and Portuguese language
    ;O)))

    Worst Pollution

I do feel sorry to place this topic here, but I guess it is a need. On the small island of Coloana, next to Macau International Airport, you'll see the biggest Diesel engine you've ever seen. During the period of 1987 - 1996 there were Diesel engine planted with a immense capacity ...

This one causes the worst pollution of Asia, and the Diesel engine made Coloane Island the world's number one Diesel engine plant. Bizar thing of minor importance; you see the famous A-MA Statue on the hill behind hearing the sound of the landing and leaving airplanes. You've heard of Google Earth? Find the combination of
    22*.18'.15.39 N - 113*.34'.49.04 E
And see for yourself the big smoke coming from the Diesel engine ...
    :o(((

    Watch out inmigration 'authorities'

    by zoom_zoom Updated Apr 14, 2003

We went by ferry from HK. What suppose to be a pleasant trip, turn out to be a very bitter experience. Inmigration 'authorities', they kept us 1.5 hours in their office for no reason. During that time they just made copies to our passports and talking to each other, while we were asking for an explanation. After that, they let us go...for no reason either !! We tried to communicate in english and cantonese too. So, communication was not the problem. I remember during the arguing we requested them to return our docs because we did not want to step in such a 'place', in where we were not welcomed. As a matter of fact, after decide not to go back to HK, we spoke out loud, that we wouldnt even buy a bottle of water while there !! This is how upset we were.. Please, save your time and money...Don;t go..
