with your big backpack is ok (for overseas traveler, not HK residents). or you will leave your luggage in HK (friend's house or somewhere), small backpack is enough
you can buy there as there are several factory outlets selling brand-name stuff
no need
films are not expensive as HK, around US$2.5-21/HK$15-20 for colour, US$3-5/HK$24-30 for black+white
camping seems not so popular in Macau but there are several beaches Leave a Comment

scene in front of Ruins of S.Paul by vividvivian Dun have to bring lots of stuffs for this place, not because it is a small place, but it's really a bit too muchto bring so many things to there as you can simply buy from there... just bring a bag/ backpack with you for your souvenir (like food, like hand-made stuff)
causual wear, but please try to wear running shoes cos you may need to walk for a whole day even you have transportation there. IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO FEEL THE PLACE WITH YOUR FEET WHEREVER YOU GO!!
it's pretty easy to get medicial stuff there, just bring some pocket tissues.
not difficult to buy films from there.
casual wear, camera and its accessories, a bottle of water. of course dun forget you watch, otherwise, you may miss another great spot:)
enough cash. you can use HKD there. Leave a Comment

Well, if you're coming over from Hong Kong for a day, you don't need much except a wallet and a camera.
Southern Asia... HOT AND HUMID! Yes, it was both when we went, and we were very grateful when a cloud would pass over and block out some of the sun for awhile! Therefore, in summer, just wear shorts.. be comfortable! Leave a Comment

Pataca by tini58de Don't worry to exchange money! You can pay with Hong Kong Dollars in Macao, although the currency there is the Pataca. The problem will be to get the Patacas changed into Hongkong dollars again ... Leave a Comment

by Bradmed Leave space for things you want to bring back.
Check http://www.cityguide.gov.mo/weather/weather_e.asp for weather conditions. Its cold in winter (Nov-Feb) and Rainy in summer (June-July). Its subtropical so don't expect snow! Watch out for typhoons in the summer.
There are Chinese pharmacies and Watsons (British supermarket). So you can pickup Aspirin and such easily, just have enough prescriptions with you!!! Here are their numbers: http://www.cityguide.gov.mo/phone/phone_e.asp
Make sure to bring the standard Hong Kong electrical adaptors. Otherwise bring everything fully charged with backups!
There are a few black sand beaches, Hac Sa for example on Coloane Island. So enjoy!
Bring an extra suticase for collectables you want to bring back. Leave a Comment

by Krystynn These are the absolute necessities. So DON'T ever forget to pack them along! Toothpaste/Toothbrush. Contact lens equipment and spare glasses. You might also wish to consider bringing along disposable contact lenses especially if you are going to be at a place with poor water supplies. Makeup (I never leave home without it!). Razor. Hair care products (brushes, comb, blow dryer, hair gel, hair spray. Get the picture?). Ladies, DON'T forget to transfer all your toner, cleanser, night cream et al into small plastic containers - to save luggage space.
I ALWAYS, ALWAYS bring along at least 2 camaras with me... just in case one breaks down. My friends used to laugh at me.... until their one and only camera broke down. When when they have to RELY SOLELY on me and my amateurish photographic skills, they stopped laughing. Yes, immediately. Serve them right! :-)) Now that I've a new digital camera, I'll be bringing it on my trips overseas! Yippee.
If you are going to do lots of walking and sightseeing, do remember to put the following items into your tote bag or backpack: - Maps and perhaps your Cantonese/ Portuguese phrase books. - Your all-important Guidebook. - Water bottle. - Sunglasses.... etc. Postcard Below: The Guia Lighthouse and Weather Observatory building.

Inexperienced travelers take note: Always carry your essential documents -- passports, money, credit cards, and air tickets -- on your person. Under no circumstances should you pack them, whether in your hand luggage or your checked bag. To do so invites disaster. Leave a Comment

Local currency is the Macau Pataca (MOP), but Hong Kong dollar is also widely accepted. So don't waste time exchanging your HK Dollars for Patacas... you'll end up with some as change from your purchases. Leave a Comment
