Home-made noodles

by ntm2322

For me this place is a must, I really like it coming here to eat noodles (try the gai si lou min). This place features Myramar cuisine, it is very popular among locals and is always full. You can see from outside articles of newspapers and magazines sticking to the glass. These are reviews from people (some of them well-known people) who have been here. Well, all their noodles are homemade and the taste is awesome.

Good sushi!

by ntm2322

When I have a craving for sushi I always come to this place. Although it is a small space (the only table it is a narrow counter that accommodates 3-4 persons), however, it is clean and the sushi is well refrigerated, no worries. What I usually do is, I go there, take a small take-away plate, choose 12 pieces (it costs 20 patacas) and then I eat them at the office.

Japanese restaurant inside Yaohan shopping centre: value for money japanese food

by pamychan

we had about 4 hours left before our flight so we went shopping in the New Yaohan shopping centre. Found this japanese restaurant inside the shopping centre itself. I think its one the 4th or 5th floor. They had quite a variety of lunch sets at reasonalbe prices so we went in to try. The restaurant overlooks the pier where the HK-Macau ferries dock. U can also see the Macau-Taipa bridge from the restaurant. I ordered the "Today lunch set" or something like that. It totally shocked me. There was rice, 1 whole grilled saba fish, set of tempura veges, set of salmon, octopus, clam, some other fish sashimi, chawanmushi, miso soup, some fried fishcake thing, pickles, and dessert! The small table was filled with stuff! And all the dishes were delicious! Plus free flow of green tea. And the best part of it all, the set was HKD100!!!!!!! Thats like so cheap!!!!!!!! The today set is the most...

RDS Fried Chicken

by vincentf

An off-the-beaten path local fried chicken shop that even sells herbal tea to sooth your mouth and throat due to all the fried foods. Try the half/full chicken set meal which includes drinks and potato wedges. It does get a little oily though.

Macanese Food

by keeweechic

Macanese food is quite multicultural.. it is a mixture of food from all over the world. All cultures like Portuguese, Chinese, African, and Indian are intertwined in the dishes. The bakeries are great too.

Afonso III: Can't pass up this hidden gem!

by Travmad

Karen and I ask somei=one on the street for a good local place to eat and were turn on to this place. We stood outside and across the street from the restaurantwonderng if that was it and was it open. After seeing someone coming out looking satisfied, we decided to give it a go. To our delight it was one of the best places I have ever eaten. A large seafood rice dish filled both of us to the rim. As we enoyed the full room in our small cove in the upstairs part with the local Portugese expats living it up at lunch.

Egg Rolls

by MizBlack

On your way to the ruins of St. Paul, you'll pass by shops that sell local products. One of which you have to try is the egg roll. They come in assorted flavours. It's yummy and will make a good gift for your friends and family at home. All the egg rolls are freshed made, one by one.

Portuguese egg tarts

Unlike the regular egg tarts, the portuguese egg tarts has a crispy crust. It's kind of interesting to see that the egg tarts looking a bit different from the ones i usually have. Nevertheless, it still taste pretty much the same.

Fernando's: Fresh and Excellent Portugese Seafood

by rachel_simhon

Located on Hac Sa Beach just a few meters from the water, a seafood dinner at Fernando's is a great way to end a day exploring Coloane Island. Locals and tourists alike come in droves for the gigantic portions of authentic Portugese seafood. The grilled fish were flaky and tender, served with freshly chopped onions, parsley, and a drizzle of olive oil on the side, and meat-and-potatoes purists also need not fear, as my sister heartily recommended her steak frites. I found the bacalhau a bit salty, but lovers of Portugese cuisine would probably contend that salt cod should of course be that way. All in all a lovely meal in a relaxed outdoor setting. Get there relatively early (especially on weekends), because by 7:30 or so the place is so packed you may have to fight for a table....

Solmar Restaurant: Solmar: Not all it's cracked up to be....

by rachel_simhon

While Solmar is called an institution for fresh seafood in Macau, I went there with my family and we all found the food to be quite tasteless and unappetizing. My father's grilled fish had actually been battered and deep-fried, was soaked in grease, and my sister's steak had a rubbery consistency and a very strange red color, while the soups that we ordered prior to dinner were definitely of the instant-sachet variety. For what we paid it was quite a disappointing meal, in rather dull ambiance.
