Visitors may go in and observe the crypt walking through the upper balustrade or through the lower sidewalk. In either case, a silent and respectful attitude is requested of those who are inside of a sacred place. As a proof of the religious nature of this space, an altar carved on a sole marble block as well as a cross and tabemacle enrooted in the rock can be observed.

Crypt & Museum of Sacred Art (St. Paul's Ruins)

by sunnywong Written Feb 25, 2003

Built at the bottom end of the inner area of the St. Paul's Ruins. On its side walls the visitor can observe the relics of the Japan and Vietnam martyrs.

In the room adjacent to the Crypt there is a Museum of Sacred Art, which includes objects of high historical and artistic value, dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
